On 10th July 2010, the first European youth work convention took place in Ghent. Youth workers and policy makers from 50 countries met to formulate the first steps towards an action plan for the sector. The convention launched a resolution stressing the importance of closer tarnsnational cooperation and knowledge sharing within the sector. The declaration is supposed to contribute to the creation of an effective and sustainable action plan for youth work in Europe.
