Youth participation is one of the key issues of the European Youth Strategy. It is also a part of national and international youth policies. IJAB, the international Youth Service of the Federal Republic of Germany, has published a brochure on youth participation on local level providing selected good practice examples from Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Great Britain and France.

FEECA – Statement on Erasmus for All PDF Print E-mail

The European Federation for Catholic Adult Education has made a contribution in the discussion on a future programme for education and launched a statement on Erasmus for All. In its statement, FEECA argued against streamlining all existing programmes in the field of youth, education and sport under one single roof and called on the institutions to keep the established subprogrammes.
Although FEECA welcomes the proposal of the European Commission to increase the budget of the new programmes, it calls for an increased share for adult education. The European Commission suggests 2%, the adult education community in Europe lobbies for a share of 7%.

Die regionale Vertretung der Europäischen Kommission in Bonn bietet am 2. Mai ein Seminar zum Thema Europäische Kooperationen im Bereich Aktives Altern an. Das Seminar will Projektverantwortliche aus Organisationen, Kommunen und Einrichtungen vernetzen und Wissen zum europäischen Projektmanagement vermitteln. Die Teilnahme am Seminar ist kostenlos, weitere Informationen zu Veranstaltungsort und –zeit gibt es bei der Kontaktstelle Deutschland „Europa für Bürgerinnen und Bürger“.

 

 
Justice and Peace launches Concerted Action against Racism PDF Print E-mail

The Conference of European Justice and Peace Commissions, a network of 30 national Justice and Peace Commissions, has launched its Concerted Action 2012. The action “Invest in Young People to Combat Racism and Political Extremism“ and is against racism and political extremism in Europe. The Concerted Action call on political leaders to to rebuild young people’s trust in the political system and promote educational opportunities for all young people.
