2011-06-30 This article is not available in English. Aufgrund einer Erhöhung des EU-Budgets 2011 (zusätzliche Mittel in Höhe von rund vier Millionen Euro) gibt es in Deutschland eine Sonderausschreibung für Mobilitätsprojekte im Rahmen des Leonardo da Vinci Programms. Dabei geht es um die Bereiche der Erstausbildung (IVT) und des Bildungspersonals (VETPRO). Dies ist eine Chance nicht nur für neue Antragstellerinnen und Antragsteller. Auch diejenigen, deren vorangegangene Projektanträge abgelehnt worden sind, können nun einen verbesserten Antrag einreichen. Antragsfrist ist der 26. August 2011. |

Commission proposes new "Education Europe" programme |

2011-06-30 Yesterday the European Commission presented its proposal for the next Multiannual Framework. In the context of the framework the Commission proposes a new programme for eduaction, training and youth - "Education Europe". The new programme shall bring together the running sub-programmes of the Lifelong Learning Programme, the international aspects of Higher Education and Youth in Action. It shall focus on providing transnational learning opportunities, matching skillls and labour market demand, volunteering and non-formal learning and the modernisation of education and training systems in Europe. |

2011-06-22 The "Learning EU at School" initiative is the European Commission specific response to a request by the European Parliament, which stipulates that the Lifelong Learning Programme "should include measures to promote civic education (teaching and learning) on European Democratic Citizenship including studies of Europe and the European Union in the European Member States' secondary schools. The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Agency has now published a Call for Proposals aiming at bringing European Union facts and knowledge on its institutions and its way of functioning to pupils and students.

Keeping the Sunday as a day for your social life, to regenerate from work and therefore having positive effects on health and safety was the main topic of the Sunday Protection Expert Conference on 20 June. Held at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels, more than 65 civil society organisations, trade unions and Churches launched the European Sunday Alliance. One of the first supporters is Rete juventutis – Catholic network Youth in Europe. |

The EAEA Grundtvig Award 2011 goes to the association Lunaria from Italy for their project "SENIOR EUROPEAN VOLUNTEERS EXCHANGE NETWORK - SEVEN". The project involved 29 organizations from several countries, creating and implementing a Senior Volunteering Program - exchange and visit of volunteers abroad. |
